Stephi LaReine: Passion and Success

It’s clear to see that blogger Stephi LaReine is a girl of many talents. She is impressing the blogging realm with her fun, yet grungy style and funky pink-purple hair. Although I have never met her, Stephi makes you feel like one of her gal pals through her writing and photos.

5 Simple Facts about Stephi 1. She is currently exhibiting her fashion photography in art galleries outside of blogging (not many people know this!) 2. She first dyed her hair pink accidentally when she was 8 years old, and can’t remember what her natural colour is! 3. She thrives off music festivals and feels like she is completely herself listening to an amazing band. 4. She has the most supportive creative family that pushed her to be anything she wanted to be as long as she was passionate. 5. She has an adorable cat called Mia who helps her out in her blogging studio by sitting on the clothes she should wear that day.

Q: Why did you start your blog?
A:  The blog’s initial origin was a source for inspiration, I was highly interested in posting content that I could look back on relating around art, music, fashion and somehow I started to keep a daily summary of helpful things I thought could benefit people. So my blog came to me by a happy accident, as I had no intentions of using it professionally or getting it to the degree it has escalated now!

Q: How would you describe your style?
A:  My style is a combination of colourful rock’n’roll. I love teaming pastel furs with big platform boots or mini pinafores with band tees. My style shifts with the seasons, but it’ll always stay fun, grungy with a soft edge.

Q: What is one thing that has made you the person you are today?
A: Passion. I believe we all carve our own paths and there’s no such thing as luck, but passion will see you through the tough days and by doing things that I love it’s shaped me into the creatively driven person that I see myself as today!

Q: We are based in the USA, so what is it like living in the UK? Do you like it?
A: I love the UK it’s so full of history, culture and a few miles side to side is so contrastive. Being British has meant I’ve lived my life on a tiny island but rich with so much to do, and it’s always nice exploring both the countryside and hitting up the city. We also have the best range of food available!

Q: What’s your biggest achievement?
A: My biggest achievement is this year really, it’s opened up so many opportunities! Being at the front row of fashion week, exploring the world and working for the best festivals and getting to interview my idols and making friends! Overall though I love that these achievements have made me blossom as a person!

Q: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
A: Do things on impulse! The best memories are the ones that are unplanned and as a teen was always so nervy and hooked up on what other people thought of me it held me back, but if my younger self could see me now I’m sure she’d be clapping with joy!

Q: Who and/or what inspires your style?
A: I’m a big believer in that everything inspires style, from the movies you watch to the music you listen to. For me music has a fantastic influence over how I dress myself in the morning, a good playlist inspires the best outfits. Although I love flicking through old books to the 1960s and 70s and taking inspiration from figures like Zandra Rhodes, which I told her when I interviewed her!

Q: What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
A: To keep having fun all around the world and working on creative projects with incredible people. Who knows where the road will take me!

Q: Do you have any tips for girls that are just starting their blogging journey?
A: Start with a fire in your tummy, passion and drive will get you everywhere and not for the freebies and the lifestyle! Communication is so underrated and try to give something back to people that you think would benefit them!

Q: Can you tell us what London Fashion Week was like? It must have been amazing!
A: It’s an incredible experience, to most people they loathe the actual experiences because it’s hectic and tiring, but I totally buzz off that positive energy. It was incredible sitting next to some of the best in the business, getting street styled by magazines, and running back to my hub to write up all my experiences every day. LFW puts such a smile on my face as it really puts everything I’ve achieved into perspective and how hard I’ve worked to get there.

It’s plain to see what an amazing young woman Stephi is and I am so happy she allowed me to interview her! I hope you all loved it as much as I did. Make sure you follow me to stay tuned for more!
