My College Must-Haves

Now that I have been at college for almost a month now, I’ve started to get the hang of what I need and, well, what I don’t really need. If you haven’t lived in a dorm yet, then just trust me: it’s good to pack as light as possible. I actually feel like I did a pretty good job with it, considering I am feeling like I should have brought more clothes.

I actually brought pretty much all of my nail polish with me, as well as files and nail clippers, you know, the essentials. I brought funky colors like blue and purple, as well as some more subdued ones like white and red. But you know the one I forgot from my collection at home? Gold. The most important one since my school colors are gold and maroon! What was I thinking while I packed? Thankfully, I took a trip back home this weekend to pick it up as well as see my family and boyfriend. Weekend well spent!

I’ve probably mentioned it before, but I’ve been so incredibly lazy with my outfits in college. With that being said, it’s always really nice to have a few comfy plain tees laying around. Right now I’m constantly wearing my ONNO organic tees. I received two of them, a hemp one in wine and a bamboo one in vintage pink! Again, the wine-colored one is perfect because it is almost identical to my school colors! But school spirit aside, these shirts are worth the investment. If you like a rougher, more textured tee (it’s not itchy though, don’t worry) then go with the hemp. The bamboo one is super soft but does seem to wrinkle easier. All in all, the shirts are super practical. I wear them to class all the time!
The perfect twin comforter was essential to making my dorm feel homey and beautiful. The one I got was from DormCo is comfy and reversible. I like to change things up so I’m glad I can just flip it over and have a different color whenever I want! I highly suggest DormCo for any of your dorm needs. I also got a desk lamp, a trunk, and sheets from there.
Picture frames. Picture frames galore. I have exactly six on my desk. They make my room feel like home. I love looking at pictures of my family, friends, boyfriend, and me. This may sound cheesy, but whenever I see the pictures, I reflect on that moment. Memories are so important to me.
Laptop accessories for my MacBook were a must. I actually came to college without any of the stuff I have for my laptop now. All I had was my backpack. Turns out that it was not a good idea to put an unprotected computer in there. The best advice I can give you is to buy a laptop sleeve before classes start. I ordered mine on BestBuy from the designer collection. This Anna Sui one is gorgeous, inexpensive, and keeps my laptop safe. Not to mention I love how soft it is on the inside, and the outside is waterproof!
I also bought a silicon hard case for extra protection. In this photo, you can see the other side of my comforter!
I hope this helped all of you who are either in college or going to be soon! Remember that if you do forget something, you can always go and get it at the store!

Aren't they? I love having them in an array of colors; they never get boring! Thanks for the comment Michelle.
